This portfolio contains my digital media projects that I have completed in my Writing for Digital Media class at Anderson University.  In this class, I have worked on different styles of writing used in digital media.  I have also worked on graphic design and video production and how it is incorporated with writing in digital media projects. In my website portfolio, you will see that there is also my dance material. I have decided to combine my two majors to create a portfolio that incorporates them together. In most of my projects, I have in some way merged the two.  For example, my podcast is about how the dance program at Anderson University needs an athletic trainer, and my infographic is about dance related injuries.

 

In this portfolio, I have multiple articles that I have written. There is a review, a profile feature, and a news story. I have made two videos that are a digital introduction and a tutorial video. I have created an infographic and social media graphics and captions.  Lastly, I have a podcast episode that I wrote out, and I created the cover graphic for it.  This semester, I have learned how to write in AP style.  This will help me with my future career in communications especially since I am interested in journalism.  AP style is used in all professional work in the media.

 

The work that I created in the class could exist in the world because critics publish their work online like reviews about movies, restaurants, and books.  Journalist also write news stories to cover certain topics and events.  Graphics are used all over the media.  One thing I thought was interesting about this class is that it encouraged us to learn how to make videos graphics, and podcasts along with writing so that we are well-rounded.  In my future career, there might be a time that I must create graphics along with writing a piece in journalism.  Companies and news stations generally hire people that can have multiple skills. This class has made me excited about having a career in communications and it had me thinking about more ways I could use dance and digital media together.
